Where Do Wrinkles Come From?

It’s not just about cellular changes that can occur over time, reduction of collagen, or damage caused by free radicals in the sun and the environment. When you frown or concentrate, the muscles between your brows contract, causing your skin to furrow and fold. And, when you squint, the muscles around your eyes contract and cause crow’s feet.

For Crow’s Feet

Your specialist will inject three areas of the orbicularis oculi, the muscle that frames the side of the eye. This will be repeated on the orbicularis oculi muscle on the other eye. Injecting BOTOX® into the muscles that cause crow’s feet lines temporarily reduces the activity of those muscles. The result is a reduction in the appearance of those lines.

For Frown Lines

Your specialist will administer five injections into the muscles in your forehead — one in the procerus muscle and four in the corrugator muscles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Botox injections are relatively safe when performed by an experienced doctor. Possible side effects and complications include: Pain, swelling or bruising at the injection site. Headache or flu-like symptoms.
Botox has been used safely and successfully for decades. It is fast, effective, and the side effects are usually barely noticeable and gone within a few days. Despite the long term Botox effects, it is a safe way to minimize signs of aging and enhance features.
Dermal fillers are also considered effective, and the results last longer than results from Botox overall. Still, results differ depending on the exact type of filler you choose. Like Botox, you’ll need maintenance treatments once the fillers wear off.
